Everyone has their own method of journaling and you may even develop your own but this is what I recommend for everyone new to journaling.
Begin each journal entry with the following structure:
Advice: ALWAYS speak in the present.
Remember, manifestation is the act of bringing intangible thoughts into existence. At this point, we are going to speak it into existence. The first step is getting clear on what we want and speaking as if we already have it.
Get rid of any self-limiting beliefs and doubt. Remember, you already have it!
I like to start each statement off with "I'm so happy and grateful that." By doing this, it sparks an emotion in me and helps me envision what I truly desire, how it makes me feel, what it allows me to do and how it has made me better. Now because I am in a positive mindset, my thoughts are able to flow freely and also I am putting this positive energy out into the universe.
Take the time to thank the universe for what you already have! No matter how big or small, be thankful. Be grateful. By showing the universe you appreciate it, it will help you obtain even more. Plus, by being thankful, you have already begun to elicit a positive feeling within yourself. It helps you change your outlook and again, your energy remains high.
Affirmations are positive statements that you repeat. They're short but specific. Remember, you're clear on what you want. You've probably seen some affirmations before such as:
These are all great affirmations to begin with. They help you believe that you are deserving of your goals and it gives you the confidence to know that you are capable of achieving them.
One thing I recommend is go back to the "manifestation" section of your journal entry. Look at what it is that you need to become in order to achieve that goal. Then write down THOSE affirmations to make sure that your actions are in alignment with your goals.
Be careful with your word choice. Always keep it positive. The universe doesn't know how to decipher the negative from the positive. Remember, it is matching your energy on the most basic level.
For example, if you say, "I want to lose weight", the universe may get caught up on "want" meaning it's something you don't have or "weight" and thus, boom, you've gained weight.
Instead, you may say something like "I am leaner" or "I am building toned thighs."
Two POWERFUL ways to begin an affirmation is "I am" or "I have."
Remember, attraction. If you have it, it will come to you freely.
Read your journal entry out loud. Let the universe hear you! Don't be afraid or ashamed. A closed mouth doesn't get fed! Feel all of the good vibrations when imagining your dream life! Put that positive energy out into the universe. If you're going through a challenging time, read it again. Read it louder. Let the feelings and emotions take you to a place of calmness and serenity. Read your affirmations throughout the day. If you are being challenged, read them. If you are thankful, read them. Remind yourself of all that you are capable and deserving of.
Record yourself reading your affirmations and play it back when you need.
Remember, you are your energy.
As you continue to journal more and practice gratitude, you will train your mind to be more positive. You'll pay more attention to how you speak and try harder to speak LIFE into situations instead of focusing on the negative. You are getting one step closer to your goal.
